Her acting career kickstarted before her presenting career, being cast as an extra on sets for SABC 2 soapie Muvhango, and featured roles on Mzansi Magic’s Saints & Sinners and It’s Complicated. Her biggest feature in her acting career thus far has been supporting lead role of “Faith” on season 1 and season 2 of Mzansi Magic’s The River. Being an MC was a natural progression in Anele’s career as it comes as second nature. ‘What makes me a really great MC I believe is my ability to connect to a crowd and make people feel like they are in the moment with me.” She believes she inherited it from her mom who is a teacher and such a natural crowd communicator. Anele has the ability to interact and hold her own in any room full of people which she says is a first hand rub off from her mom. ‘You could give me any crowd, any room or any stage, big or small and I’ll make it an occasion’.

She is the perfect host for any type of event, be it a formal corporate event, a brand activation, a music festival.

Anele’s love for presenting started way back in her teens, as a 16-year old recording herself on a laptop at home. Born and bred in Newcastle in KZN, after completing matric she obtained a Diploma in Media Studies from Boston Media House including two TV presenting certificates.

Before her big break on Channel O’s flagship music show Massive Music alongside co-hosts Smash Afrika and Lalla, she had made it into the national top 10 of the MTV Base VJ search, although she didn’t make it to the finals, things began to change less than a year later when she joined Massive Music and 1Magic’s The River through sheer passion and tenacity.

“As the last born of four children, I grew up wearing hand me downs from my older siblings, this meant I had to find a way to own the clothes once I had my turn with them. This is how my love for fashion and individual identity started. I’ve loved customizing clothing pieces even before I knew there was a word for it, adding my twist to existing clothes to suit my personality.”

Anele is a fan of local designers and the South African fashion scene and abroad. She has also started creating her own original pieces inspired by African prints with a cool twist .Her everyday style is edgy, fashion forward but still attainable. “Giving Get Together is an annual event I founded in 2019, the plan is to give back way more and to grow the organization into a formidable charity institution. Giving Get Together primarily focuses on promoting the culture of giving, especially within the media and entertainment space. It is incredible how far a gesture that may be insignificant to one person, could be life changing to the next.” Every year Anele invites some of her friends, acquaintances and fav brands to dig into their closets, pockets and networks to give back to those less privileged.
